I’m Sagi. I built Elster Archive because it felt strange that access to footage from my own home depended on a camera subscription. I wanted a simple way to keep my video history somewhere I already used every day.
So I built a WhatsApp bot that automatically saves camera clips to my chat. I can look back at those moments whether or not I have a camera subscription—and Elster Archive doesn’t keep a video archive on its own systems.
What started with WhatsApp is now open for others to try, with a choice of messaging apps and more options to come. The bot guides you through self-service setup, and early access is free. The idea is simple: more control over your home footage, with less to pay for and less to manage.

Do I need a camera subscription?
Elster Archive saves new person-triggered clips from compatible cameras to your chat without a camera subscription. Delivered clips remain independent of your camera plan. This doesn’t unlock recordings already held by your camera provider or import your past history.
How long can I keep my history?
Your history lives in the clips delivered to your messaging account. Availability depends on your app’s storage, deletion and backup settings. Download important clips for your own records; Elster Archive isn’t a permanent backup service.
Will it work with my camera?
Tell us your camera brand when you sign up. We’ll review your setup and explain your options by email before you connect anything.
Does it save my entire video history?
Elster Archive delivers short clips when someone appears on a connected camera, after activation. It does not import past recordings or create a continuous 24/7 backup.
Do I need another app or new equipment?
Start on this website using your existing camera. We’ll check whether your camera and its power connection are suitable before you share access. Some setups require additional help.
How much does early access cost?
Early access is free. No credit card is required. We’ll explain any future pricing before you decide whether to continue.
Will you need my camera password?
No. We’ll never ask for your personal camera password. We explain the permissions needed before you decide to connect. Some cameras require administrator-level access, and you can revoke access in your camera app.
Where do my videos go?
Your clips arrive in your chosen messaging app. We don’t keep a video archive on our systems. Your messaging provider’s storage, backup and deletion policies still apply. See our privacy details for how clips are processed.
Can I stop at any time?
Yes. Send “stop” in your setup chat to stop the service. You can also revoke access in your camera app. Stopping does not delete clips already delivered to your messaging account.
