Who we are
Elster Archive is an independent early-access service, not operated by your camera manufacturer or messaging provider.
Information we use
We use your contact details, camera details, app preference and setup answers to provide the service and help with setup. Availability updates require your consent; we don’t use your details for unrelated marketing.
Each website chat answer reaches our team when you send it, even if you don’t finish. Website copies last 7 days; our team also keeps them in setup conversations. Setup records remain until you request deletion.
Cloudflare hosts the website and stores early-access requests for up to 180 days, with hourly cleanup of expired records. Hosting providers process security logs. Cookies support request withdrawal for 180 days and older signup confirmations for 24 hours. A 30-minute cookie prevents duplicate visit alerts to our team; alerts contain the page visited, the time and the ad or website that linked you here, not your IP address. Website alert records last 7 days; copies also appear in our private operator chat. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits without cookies. To improve this website we also record which parts of a page are viewed, which buttons and questions are tapped, roughly how long the page stays on screen, any page error messages, the ad or website that linked you here and a general device and browser type such as “iPhone, Reddit in-app browser”. These records use no cookies; a random ID kept in this browser tab until you close it groups them and connects them to your setup chat if you start one. They contain no IP address, last 7 days and do not alert our team. We use no advertising trackers.
Camera and messaging access
We process camera permissions and service status to deliver clips. We never ask for your personal camera password. You authorize camera access, which may include administrator permissions, and can revoke it in your camera app.
Your messaging provider receives your chat and clips. Website handoff messages include your name, camera brand and camera count when you send them in WhatsApp or iMessage.
Video storage and security
We don’t keep your video archive on our systems. Temporary delivery files are removed after processing or during cleanup; failures can delay deletion. Your messaging app controls its own storage, backups and deletion.
The website uses HTTPS. We process clips for delivery, so the complete service is not end-to-end encrypted.
Stop or delete your information
Send “stop” in your Elster Archive chat and revoke camera access to stop the service. Ask in that chat to delete setup information; our team handles the request and confirms completion. Withdraw an early-access request through the website confirmation or by replying to our email.
Stopping service or deleting setup information does not delete delivered clips. Manage those messages and backups in your messaging app.
